Focus Questionnaire

The Focus Questionnaire has been developed by chartered psychologists and is a great instrument to help students assess and evaluate their ‘focus level’ in relation to studying at school.

Five factors make up the total focus score. Separate questionnaires are developed for KS3 and KS4. The school will receive group and individual data that can be used for mentoring / tutor group activities as well as student voice and SEF purposes.

The five factors of the focus questionnaire:

  • Frame of mind
  • Organisation
  • Connections
  • Understanding
  • Study behaviour

For more specific information on these five factors click on FOCUS factors.

KS3 & KS4 Focus Questionnaires

These Focus Questionnaires have especially been developed for KS3 and KS4 students to ensure question vocabulary and areas covered are age specific.  At the same time they are tuned in such a way that focus scores in KS3 can be compared with those in KS4.

Data Schools will receive a report (paper & electronic version).  This will clearly show how the total group sample and each individual student have scored overall as well as in the separate five focus factors. An easy-to-read break down of each question is provided to help staff examine and evaluate trends within the sample.

The school is responsible for creating a code system for each student in the sample so that it can be established who answered which questions.
