Transition to Secondary School Questionnaire

Looking at this important transition period in students’ educational careers, the outcome from this questionnaire generates valuable data for schools to get a clear picture of what students thoughts are about starting at secondary school as well as how they felt they were doing at primary school. This information can be very useful when Tutors and line managers want to identify potential issues or candidates for a peer mentoring programme or create a baseline to evaluate the overall transition programme.  

 This questionnaire is most effective when it is done twice.  

One questionnaire can be given to students either at the end of Year 6 or during the introduction week in Year 7. This questionnaire explores what students think about their new school, their expectations, possible fears and the differences with primary school.
